This place is a hidden gem. We stayed a couple of nights with our young children and it exceeded our expectations. Beautiful surroundings, surprisingly spacious interior and little details really considered, we can’t wait to come back in the summer. So good we wanted to keep it a secret!

From the outset, Hannah, was an amazing host. She was always ready to help and made our stay feel like a home from home. The cottage is beautifully decorated and cosy and immaculately clean. Lots of little extras (like a beautiful Christmas tree) and flowers, plants etc. The grounds around the cottage were perfect for having the two dogs. The location felt peaceful like it was isolated, in the middle of nowhere, yet every time I put a destination in the sat nav, it was always under 10 mins away, to all the local places (villages, towns and shops etc). There’s a tea shop within walking and a nice wood for the dogs to walk in. I would highly recommend this cottage. For me it was returning back to my roots, to see family and friends. But for a base to explore this part of Yorkshire I can’t recommend the Yorkshire Gate Lodge highly enough.

This gate keepers lodge is fantastic in every way. I highly recommend this amazing holiday cottage. The grounds are exquisite and the cottage is immaculately kept with everything you could ever possibly need.
Stunning property, amazing location was perfect for our wedding night.
We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights. Hannah was really helpful and very easy to contact. The property it’s self was perfect, clean and well maintained. The kitchen has everything you need, bedrooms very comfortable generally very well furnished. And it was 5mins from the local wedding venue and vineyard. Highly recommend

Absolutely amazing find! The lodge was perfect – had everything you needed and was in a beautiful location. We had a 2 night stay and wished we could stay longer as 2 nights didn’t feel like enough! Check-in was super easy, and all communication with host was speedy. On arrival, there is an information pack that has everything you could need in it and we found this really useful! Would whole-heartedly recommend and would definitely go again!
